Melbourne Rainbow Band is back and ready to perform!
We are very excited to announce that we have weathered the storm of online rehearsals and have now fully returned to in person rehearsals at the Prahran RSL. Thank you to everyone who supported us during 2020, and to all our members for their constant enthusiasm both during lockdown and our return.
Here is an update and a sneak peak on what we have coming up in 2021 as we settle in to this weird, but bearable, new normal.
1. Emerging from Chrysalis
Those who were following along last year may remember that 2020 marked the 25th Anniversary of MRB, which we were unfortunately not able to celebrate in person.
Do not fret!
We have a lovely treat coming your way in time for Midsumma’s online festival – the premiere of Emerging from Chrysalis! Amazing young composer Jared McCunnie has worked tirelessly to create a stunning piece of work that we cannot wait to share with you. We will be premiering the piece at our next rehearsal, 22 April 2021, and are looking forward to sharing our hard work with everyone.
2. PRIDE!
The wonderful team at Midsumma have created a COVID Safe plan for the 2021 Pride March!
You can find us marching enthusiastically on 23 May 2021, however, things will be very different compared to previous marches.
Midsumma are working hard to keep us updated on the ever changing restrictions. What we know so far is that there will be only two ways to watch the march this year: either watching at home through the Facebook live-stream or booking a venue on Fitzroy Street.
Make sure you plan ahead!
3. June Winter Concert
Get your calendars out and flip forward to 20th June – lock us in!
We’re pulling together a fantastic selection of pieces to perform for everyone and we’re very excited to see you all in person again.
Stay tuned!
