MRB seeks new Musical Director

Sadly, at our recent concert “Pictures”, we announced the resignation of the Bands current Musical Director – David Wisken, for whom professional opportunities have increased which now take him away from his position in front of the band.

Sadly, at our recent concert “Pictures”, we announced the resignation of the Bands current Musical Director – David Wisken, for whom professional opportunities now take him away from his position in front of the band.

While David will be missed on the conductor’s podium, the band is better for having had him lead it over the past few years.  Under David’s leadership the MRB has grown in ability and in confidence, and our recent concerts have been presented with the band performing challenging programs that have been enjoyed by the band’s members and the audiences alike.

The MRB is now looking for someone to take up the vacancy at the conductors stand and is looking for a MUSICAL DIRECTOR who will:

• Provide musical leadership and direction.
• Possess significant experience with bands.
• Have achieved a high degree of musicianship.
• Be from, or friendly with the GLBTI community.
• And enjoy working with a group of enthusiastic amateur musicians with huge potential!

The MRB rehearses every Thursday evening and performs throughout the year both as a symphonic band and marching band in showcase concerts and at events such as Pride March, Midsumma and ChillOut Festival.
