MRB seeks new Musical Director

June 27, 2015

The Melbourne Rainbow Band is looking for a new Musical Director.

Following on from the recent successes of ‘Rainbow Connections’ the first of two 20th Anniversary concerts, the MRB’s Musical Director, Greg Peterson has reluctantly stepped down from this position in order to fulfill professional conducting opportunities interstate in 2016.

Greg has been an inspirational conductor who has led the band to greater musical heights.  The positive audience feedback following our performances is a reflection of his drive and passion to encourage great musicianship. Greg’s ‘back to basics’ approach at rehearsals has allowed us to take a step forward with our tuning and timing, enabling the MRB to take on some challenging and engaging music.

The MRB is now looking for someone to take up the vacancy at the conductors stand. A successful applicant will have significant experience with bands, a high degree of musicianship and be from, or friendly with the GLBTI community.
