Human; Nature

May 27, 2017

The members of the Melbourne Rainbow Band (MRB) would like to invite you to join them as, through music, they explore the power of nature and humanity.  Under the baton of Musical Director Tracy Videon, the band will uncover the relationship of human nature to the beauty and power of the natural world.

HUMAN NATURE - Banner

From conquering the skies with Richard Saucedo’s “Into the Clouds”, to the menacing power of the ocean with John Mackey’s “Undertow”, the first half covers a whole spectrum of nature’s wonders.

In the second half, the Band will turn its attention to various facets of human nature.  “The Brave”, by Melbourne composer Brian Hogg is inspired by the efforts of Scottish and Irish settlers.  Representing love, the MRB is pleased to premier a new Concertino for Flute and Wind Band by composer Peter Yi-Jen Cheng, based on popular Thai love songs and featuring Sunny Maneesuwan on flute.

The MRB will also be joined by members of the LOW REZ Male Choir in what is sure to be a fantastic evening of music.
