Our third community concert was specifically aimed at the Eagles group, a community based program that aims to provide a greater degree of independence and decision making ability to people with a mild intellectual disability.
This was the first in the concert series to be performed outdoors, and as well as the Eagles group it attracted passers by who stayed to enjoy the show.
The band performed a number of works from Bent Rhapsody, including Star Wars by John Williams, Jupiter by Holst, Persuasion by Sammy Nestico, and All You Need is Love, a medley of Beatles tunes.
The band and members of the club mingled during intermission and it turned out that Star Wars was definitely the favourite of the day! Rose Carnovale, EAGLES Club Coordinator, thanked the band for “access to such wonderful music that the group otherwise wouldn’t have.” The concert was a wonderful opportunity to support the local community, and give the band live performance experience in the lead up to Bent Rhapsody.
