The MRB and Melbourne Gay and Lesbian Chorus celebrated Christmas together at 6th annual combined Christmas concert, Carols By Queerlight.
Hosted by Luke Gallagher, the show was as usual a great success, even with the 37-degree temperature and a thick layer of smoke covering the city. Out of respect to those fighting bushfires no candles were sold this year, instead replaced by glowing armbands – to the delight of the audience.
This year the stage was set up much more effectively than in previous years, displaying the MRB and MGLC as a combined unit. The event also saw the debut of the MRB’s brand new sconce lights. Aside from the always-frantic bump in, the event ran smoothly and was well received by the audience. The Prahran Market and Mojito’s Restaurant, as in previous years, provided significant support for the event.
