Bent Rhapsody featured the haunting violin theme from Schindler’s List, Sammy Nestico’s smooth saxophone solo Persuasion, and our trombone trio moving things along with Lassus Trombone.
Gershwin’s masterpiece, Rhapsody in Blue was performed by special guest Mitchell Chipman at the piano. His stirring performance of this iconic composition roused the audience to cheering applause.
Guest artist Marawa the Amazing added a sense of uniqueness to the night, giving a sensual and gyrating hoola-hoop performance to Saving All My Love.
Joy94.9 presenter Tim Newton kept the evening’s proceedings on course as master of ceremonies, as well as providing a multi media display of the Band’s experience at this year’s Mardi Gras.
A special thank you to the organisers and volunteers, your dedication and professionalism was sincerely appreciated and was pivotal in the success of Bent Rhapsody.
The concert was sponsored by the City of Stonnington, Paladarr Thai Issan Restaurant, Steamworks, and the Shaft Store.
