Midsumma Pride 2021

June 3, 2021

Who knew we would be sneaking in another year of Midsumma Pride just before another lockdown!

After a year of Zoom rehearsals and playing quietly to ourselves, the Melbourne Rainbow Band came back stronger than ever, and marched proudly down Fitzroy Street on the 23rd of May. Despite our concerns that it would be a quiet affair, we were warmly welcomed by a raucous (COVID safe) crowd, who were just as excited as we were to be back out in St Kilda.

We were so excited to finally play to a crowd, and debut our amazing new uniforms! Thank you to our uniform committee for wrangling the design and logistics, we couldn’t be happier with our new look.

Fingers crossed for another successful Pride in 2022!

Rug up and join the Melbourne Rainbow Band on winter solstice eve for our first live concert in over a year and a half!

Hosted by community darling and all-round busy homosexual Dean Acuri and conducted by Tracy Videon, join us as we delve into the darkest night and then back out into the light with a program inspired by Lord of the Rings, a noir detective story, darkened theatres and much more.
